He told Holding: "I would just like to thank all of your listeners for your prayers they really can be felt and I’ve got some good news today.
"Winkie’s condition is stabilizing: his kidney and his liver are beginning to function normally. He’s still on the dialysis machine (and) they still want to give him a little bit of help there. He’s not a hundred percent but he is not getting any worse, and although it might be a bit of a stretch to say he’s recovered, he is recovering. And so thank you everybody for your prayers, they really are making a difference.
Anderson said Winkie, "was in a very bad place twenty-four hours ago -- today his chances are much, much improved. And I really think that we have the prayers of God’s people crying out to the throne for that. Thank you."
Holding told Anderson and his radio audience that as he was praying with his wife last night, "I thought there’s tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands, perhaps even into the millions of people praying (and that) the wonderful thing with the internet is that people all over the world have been praying for Winkie."
Anderson said that his e-mail box "is literally flooded with pastors from all over the globe saying that they had called their churches to pray.
"Some of the large massive churches in South Korea are even calling entire churches to pray. It’s just a sign of how much of a servant Winkie has been to The Lord’s Church for so long," he said.
Anderson explained that Winkie is still on the respirator but he is trying to breathe without it, "which is great."
"So I guess it will hopefully be just a day or two before they take him off the respirator. They do have him in an induced coma right now because that helps the body to heal. Fay [Winkie's wife] is there (and) his son William will be there in a few hours, although unfortunately they will not be able to speak with him. Fay has been there for just over twenty-four hours (and) has not been able to speak with him yet. But I hear that the color is returning to his face and he is looking much better. People have got lots of faith to believe that we’re going to be hanging onto our Winkie for quite some time yet," said Anderson.
Holding mentioned that reports from the hospital say there was "a tangible lift in the faith of all those who are around Winkie, both the Christians and non-Christian, which sounds a bit unusual."
"We’ve been praying that this situation would not just be the revival of Winkie Pratney; I don’t think I need to say any more," said Anderson.
As Anderson prayed for situation, Holding said that,"as we send this interview around the world to our various UCB stations, we’ll again have thousands, and hopefully millions of people, joining us in this prayer."
