BLAKELY, COLQUITT AND CAMILLA, GA (ANS) -- A few years ago, Ralph Wilcox, a veteran Hollywood star of great movies such as MOVIEGUIDE® award winners, ONCE UPON A TIME, WHEN WE WERE COLORED and television programs such as LOU GRANT, MAUDE and HAPPY DAYS, started his own movie company in the cotton patches of Southwest Georgia.

He also founded the Jokara-Micheaux Film Festival, which has grown to be a major event in which MOVIEGUIDE® participates every year.
On Labor Day weekend, the Film Festival hosted the Third Annual Jokara-Micheaux Film Festival in the towns of Blakely, Colquitt and Camilla in southwest Georgia featuring some of the best from Hollywood.
Joel Zwick of MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING, FAT ALBERT and FULL HOUSE fame spoke. Beverly Todd, who starred in THE BUCKET LIST, CRASH, THE LENA BAKER STORY, and many other movies (and has been featured at the Annual MOVIEGUIDE® Faith & Values Awards Gala & Report to the Entertainment Industry, also spoke. And, wonderful movies were shown, including THE LENA BAKER STORY.
Once again, Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of the MOVIEGUIDE®: The Family Guide to Movies & Entertainment, spoke several times during the event. Dr. Baehr showed how good movies always do better at the box office and spiritually uplifting movies do even better.

Baehr said he was delighted to learn that many of the producers, directors and writers at the film festival are “going back to Hollywood” with “the good news that good movies do better at the box office.”
Actor Tom Huff told Dr. Baehr, “This last weekend was one of the most positive experiences of my life. Yours and Ralph's words brought a great deal of joy to my heart.”
The Third Annual Jokara-Micheaux Film Festival was hosted by HennyPenny Video/Television Training Program, Laughing Crow 1 Entertainment, LLC, the City of Camilla, and the Southwest Georgia Film Commission Office.
