HOLLYWOOD, CA (ANS) -- Dan Wooding, founder of the ASSIST News Service (ANS), is featured in a new Hollywood documentary called HOLLYWOOD ON FIRE, along with such luminaries as Chuck Norris, Jane Russell Pat Boone as well as Christian media experts, Dr. Ted Baehr and Dr. Larry W. Poland.

Wooding, 68, is one of many Christian professionals, including producers, directors, actors, studio executives, comedians, stunt men, journalists, recording artists and critics, interviewed in the documentary that chronicles the past, present and future of faith in the entertainment industry.

Dan Wooding moved to Southern California from the UK in July 1982 with his wife Norma and their two Birmingham-born sons, Andrew and Peter.

He now runs the ASSIST News Service (ANS) -- www.assistnews.net  -- which provides news to some 2,600 media outlets several times a day and hosts the Los Angeles-based radio show, “Front Page Radio” and also “Front Page” on Safe Worlds IPTV from their studios in Irvine, California.

Wooding has worked as a senior reporter for The Christian, the Middlesex County Times, the Sunday People and the Sunday Mirror, all in London, England, and was also a London-based correspondent for the National Enquirer, before moving to the United States.

He has interviewed many Hollywood stars over the years including Johnny Mathis, Burt Lancaster, David Soul, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Chuck Norris, Jane Russell, Mickey Rooney and Pat Boone.

After a spiritual renewal in his life, Wooding left this form of journalism and has specialized in eyewitness reporting of persecuted Christians around the world. He has filed stories from Albania, Burma, China, Cuba, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Grenada, Lebanon, North Korea, Romania, Uganda and Vietnam, to name some of the hot spots. His articles on Christians being persecuted for their faith are published worldwide and his weekly commentary was carried for ten years on the UPI Radio Network in Washington, DC.

Wooding has worked as a writer and broadcaster with Billy Graham in Moscow, Russia; Essen, Germany and in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He wrote the cover story on Billy Graham, his wife Ruth, and son Franklin, for the March/April 1996 issue of the Saturday Evening Post.

He is also the author of some 42 books including “From Tabloid to Truth,” which is his autobiography and includes several chapters on his life in Birmingham.
