VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (ANS) -- Dr. Anne Gimenez, co-founder with her deceased husband John of the Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1968, is currently on a ventilator and receiving dialysis treatment.

Gimenez, who was born and raised in South Texas and ordained at the age of 19, traveled extensively in evangelistic work before marrying John Gimenez in 1967. They have one daughter and one granddaughter.

An e-mail report from her daughter, sent out on her behalf by Kempsville Presbyterian Church to their members says: "Sister Ann had a pretty good night, the white blood count is down, so she is still responding to the antibiotics. She remains sedated, on dialysis and on the ventilator. She is able to breathe on her own, but the ventilator helps her rest. Pray for no setbacks and for the cause of the infection to be revealed. The doctors expect her to remain in ICU for a week."

According to the Anne Gimenez ministry website, John and Anne Gimenez founded the Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1968, as well as a ministry for drug addicts, unwed mothers and the homeless.

Anne served for eighteen years as Executive Producer for the nationally televised program, “Rock Alive” to spread the Gospel. John and Anne have pastored the Rock Church in Virginia Beach for 37 years and have planted many churches around the world.

In 1985, Anne received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Oral Roberts University. In 1980, 1988, and 1986 Anne worked with her husband, John, who coordinated the “Washington for Jesus” rallies and the “America for Jesus” rally in 2004. In 1992, She received the “Outstanding Professional Woman of Hampton Roads” award.

When John assumed full-time duties as Apostle and Bishop of the Rock Ministerial Family in 1999, Anne was named Senior Pastor of the Rock Church International in Virginia Beach with a congregation of over 4,000.

The Anne Gimenez Ministries Television program can be seen weekly on Direct TV, Dish Network, NRB Network, WLCB-TV 46 in Florida, WLPC-TV 26 in Detroit, MI., the Christian Television Network, the Total Christian Television Network (TCT), TCT World (Satellite), and most recently on the Daystar Network.

Together, John and Anne Gimenez co-authored the book “Upon This Rock” which tells the remarkable story of the founding of Rock Church. Anne’s other writings include, “Whose Kingdom Is It Anyway?” “The Emerging Christian Woman”, and “Marking Your Children For God” which was published by Creation House.

Anne Gimenez not only pastors but also travels nationally and internationally ministering the Word of God.
