It took place today (Monday, February 8, 2010) at Mariner’s Church in Irvine, California, where he addressed some 200 local pastors and Christian leaders at an event organized by Gen. Shimon Erem, Founder and Chair of the Israel Christian Nexus / The Alliance for Jerusalem and ably assisted by PR specialist, Patricia Johnson head The Johnson Group.
You can download the interview for broadcast at http://www.sendspace.com/file/3gr4tm If you plan to run it, could you just send me a message at danjuma1@aol.com and give your name and the name of your media outlet. Here’s some background on Mr. Oren: Michael Oren was appointed Israel’s Ambassador to the United States in May 2009. A noted author, historian and Middle East scholar, Ambassador Oren was born and educated in the U.S., where he became active in Zionist youth movements before moving to Israel in the 1970s. He served as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces, in the paratroopers in the Lebanon War, as a liaison with the U.S. Sixth Fleet during the Gulf War, and as an IDF spokesman during the Second Lebanon War and the Gaza Operation in January 2009. He acted as an Israeli Emissary to Jewish refuseniks in the Soviet Union and as an adviser to Israel’s delegation to the United Nations. I will also be posting the interview on our website in the next few hours so the rest of you can hear it and I plan to write up a print story.
