PO Box 609, Lake Forest, CA 92609-0609 USA Monday, March 15, 2010 Conference Prepares Women to Impact their Villages Gospel for Asia For Immediate Release
BHUTAN (ANS) -- Ladies who are part of Gospel for Asia’s Women’s Fellowship see new life springing up before them all the time. They see poor village mothers learning to read in their literacy classes. They see miraculous answers to prayer among their neighbors. When there is a natural disaster or other need, these women are there reaching out to their communities with relief supplies and the message of God’s love. Recently, 200 of these women from 13 different churches in Bhutan gathered together for a conference to share testimonies, encourage one another on in the faith and learn more from the Word, so they could continue touching their communities. Traveling through politically sensitive and often dangerous areas, the women each arrived safely in the city where the seminar was to be held. At the seminar, wives of GFA leaders and Women’s Fellowship leaders shared from their experience and their knowledge of the Scriptures. Some of the main topics included discipline, encouraging each woman to be faithful in her prayer life, caring for her family and giving to the Lord’s work. Many of the women were touched deeply at the conference, sensing the Lord’s presence and saw their zeal to serve Him renewed. As well, at the end, leaders prayed for any women who were sick or needed healing in any way. These women deeply desire to continue reaching out in their communities, and they are grateful that this conference gave them spiritual inspiration to continue. This Women's Fellowship team brought hope with new clothes to slum dwellers.
