Sports-themed Devotional Booklet Launched

By Dan Wooding
Founder of ASSIST Ministries

WORTHING, UK (ANS) -- International Christian sports media agency 2K Plus International Sports Media (www.2kplus.org.uk) has launched a new devotional booklet for sports fans.

Cover of the new booklet

According to a new release, it is called “A Sporting Month With 2K Plus” and is a collection of 28 brief, profound, challenging, and sometimes quirky, reflections from a Christian perspective.

The author, Brian Pearson, is a qualified football (soccer) referee and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) coach and umpire who offers his thoughts as someone with a passion for sport and a passion for his faith.

In this series of daily devotions Brian tackles a range of topics familiar to anyone who loves and follows sport from tragedy to triumph, expectation to exasperation and preparation to podium.

“A Sporting Month With 2K Plus” is designed to help sports fans reflect upon and engage with the challenges of living daily life as a follower of Jesus. Earthed in every day experiences, the author writes to encourage and commend a Christian lifestyle.

The Rt. Revd Mark Rylands, Bishop of Shrewsbury sets the tone in his foreword to the booklet in which he said: “Brian Pearson’s writing is like his bowling – a lively pace, always on a length and with a cunning late swing that you have to watch carefully as a batsman. Brian helps to draw us closer to the God who is passionate about this planet and all sports fans who live on it.”

Former Zimbabwe cricketer Henry Olonga is equally enthusiastic. “Every athlete needs some down-time and in this series, ideal for down-time reading, Brian Pearson offers profound insights delivered with a light touch. These pieces will inform and inspire, and while reading them be ready to smile!”

A Sporting Month With 2K Plus costs in the UK, £2.99 and is available from Amazon or direct from 2K Plus International Sports Media plus £2.00 postage and packing.

2K Plus International Sports Media is a registered charity. It is the world’s only Christian sports media agency and exists to introduce sports fans to Jesus through media. Since 1991 2K Plus has reported from major international sporting events with a Christian perspective including five summer Olympic Games and various World Cups. This summer 2K Plus will report from the London Olympic and Paralympic Games serving over 1500 radio stations in four languages.
