‘Legacy of Leadership’ Documentary Series Now Nearing Completion

By Michael Ireland
Senior International Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

UNITED KINGDOM (ANS) -- Some have called the series a “Who’s Who” of Christianity.

For the past two years, people like Heidi Baker, Isaac Liu (Brother Yun’s son), Pastor Jentezen Franklin, author Philip Yancey, Dr. Young Hoon Lee (Senior Pastor of the world’s largest church) and Jim Wallis have been sharing in an international TV series, the principles by which they have lived and ministered.

The filming of “Precepts of Leadership”, about to be aired on every continent, is now 75 percent completed, according to producer David Sullivan.

“From Europe to China to Japan almost all of the programs have been filmed on location to give an authentic feel to the productions and to meet the guests where they are at,” Sullivan told ANS.

Keith and Mary Hudson, who are evangelists, are also singer Katy Perry's parents.

“Philip Yancey has shared on suffering, Jeff Lucas on messy church. Keith and Mary Hudson, evangelist parents of singer Katy Perry, have shared on praying for your children while Charles Price, Senior Pastor of the historic The People’s Church, Toronto, Canada, has shared on how they are reaching their city for Jesus Christ,” he said.

This 52 part series is the follow-up to the 52 part series ‘Principles of Leadership,’ also produced by Sullivan’s organization, HFC International.

Guests on that groundbreaking TV series include Brother Andrew, Brother Yun, Joyce Meyer, Dr. Luis Palau, Jackie Pullinger MBE, Canon Andrew White (The ‘Vicar of Baghdad’), Tass Saada (former terrorist and author of ‘Once an Arafat Man’), sociologists Tony Campolo and Os Guinness, Canon J. John and ALPHA’s Nicky Gumbel.

Sullivan said production on this current series is due to be completed at the end of 2012. He added that plans are already underway for a third and final series in the leadership “trilogy” -- Perspectives on Leadership (filming 2013-2015).

U. K. based charity, HFC International, spearheaded by Sullivan, has taken this step of faith in the production of these series.

“The project has been a huge undertaking (for us),” said Sullivan. “HFC International’s purpose to assist to raise up and train leaders worldwide.”

Currently HFC International is working in more than 48 nations, he said.

“Broadcasting is just one of the ways that we are attempting to disciple and train the millions of leaders that are needed to reach this world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Sullivan.

He added: “Although ‘Precepts of Leadership’ is aimed at, mainly, Christian TV networks, there are a few of the 20 TV series currently in production that are aimed entirely at the secular worldwide market.”
