UK ‘Childrenswork’ Magazine Launched
Ideas, resources and guidance for Christian children’s leaders

By Peter Wooding

LONDON, ENGLAND (ANS) -- A magazine aimed at people who work with children in churches across the UK was launched this week by London-based Premier Christian Media.

First copy of Childrenswork
magazine

According to a Premier Media press release Childrenswork magazine and its website seeks to remedy the evident lack of resources available to Christian children’s leaders across the UK. This unique title is designed to inspire and encourage them to share the message of Jesus with pre-teens.

The bi-monthly is co-edited by Martin Saunders who said; “A comparable study in America revealed that nearly half of those who accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%). We have a severe lack of materials available for people working with young children here in the UK.”

The new magazine seeks to be a vital tool for those working with 0-11 year olds and will feature the latest news on developments in children’s ministry and culture, together with interviews with some of the leading voices in children’s ministry.

Saunders continues, “We’ve seen our sister title, Youthwork magazine, go from strength to strength over the past 21 years but an increase in focused church work among young children and their families has been accompanied by an increased need for good resourcing in these areas.”

Advice panels made up of leading experts in the field will directly address the issues faced by children’s workers, keeping them informed with reviews of the latest ‘How-To’ guides.

Co-editor Sam Donoghue, who is Children’s Ministry Adviser to the Diocese of London, said; “Childrenswork magazine is an exciting development for those of us who work with children. So many work so very hard to help our churches become welcoming places for children and we hope to resource and support them – perhaps raising their horizons as they seek to nurture the incredibly deep, profound, yet fragile faith and spirituality of children.”
