NEWPORT BEACH, CA (ANS) -- Christian Men's Network (www.cmnworld.com) will celebrate 35 years of building strong men at “Meet Me at the Jetty,” a celebratory gathering honoring over three decades of work, the 30th birthday of the bestselling book for men, “Maximized Manhood,” and the 10-year commemoration of the passing of Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, known as the father of the Christian men's movement and the founder of the Christian Men's Network.

According to a news release from A. Larry Ross Communications (www.alarryross.com), Christian Men's Network has been the success model in men's ministry for the past 35 years, with over 1 million trained men in 100-plus nations, from Uganda to Indonesia to Miami. The ministry's men's curriculum, “Majoring in Men,” has been endorsed by leaders all over the world, including actor Chuck Norris, who said: “Sometimes you meet a man who forever impacts the way you think and, most importantly, the way you live. Dr. Edwin Louis Cole was such a man, and is such a man still, through his writing. His words that came from the heart of God will live on forever.”

Christian Men's Network has witnessed great changes in men's ministry over the past three decades, and has remained the expert on ministering to and building up men. Ten major denominations and church fellowships embrace the ministry of Christian Men's Network. “What a treasure! Edwin Louis Cole's training for men is a must for pastors and leaders who want to become successful disciple-makers of men who produce strong disciples,” said Dr. George O. Wood, the General Superintendent for the Assemblies of God fellowship, the largest denomination in the world.

In honor of this, Christian Men's Network will host “Meet Me at the Jetty” August 23-25 in Newport Beach, Calif., bringing together global leaders, friends and family to celebrate the founder's life and legacy, including Wood; Glenn Burris, President of Four Square Church International; Doug Stringer, Founder and President of Turning Point Ministries International; and Jim Garlow, Senior Pastor of Skyline Church.

The jetty

Dr. Cole often stated he heard from God when at the jetty at the entrance to Balboa Bay, when walking the beach, praying and receiving inspiration from the Lord. “It was at The Jetty that my father wrote the words that launched the men's movement around the world,” said Paul Cole the son of Dr. Cole and President of Christian Men's Network. “Dad would walk the beach, talk to God and then he would listen. God spoke to my father about strong men in tough time, a message we continue to share today.”

Joann Webster, daughter of Dr. Cole and Vice President of Christian Men's Network, added, “My father's goal was to help pastors become successful disciple-makers, and lead men to become strong disciples. We honor the legacy of what he did, and it is still going on today around the world.”

“Meet Me at the Jetty” will begin each morning with a sunrise communion service on the beach to honor the sacrifice of Jesus. Registration for the event is available to the public and will include the communion services, some meals, testimonies, and inspirational meetings with guest speakers.
