ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (ANS) -- On Wednesday, Aug. 1 the "CBS Buzz Tour" will be in Albuquerque to partner with CBS13/KRQE for a food drive benefiting Joy Junction from 7:00 AM to Noon at Coronado Mall at 6600 Menaul NE

Join CBS reality star veteran Alex Boylan (winner of the second season of "The Amazing Race") -- and CBS13 on-air personalities Matt Mauro, Elizabeth Alvarez, Kristen Van Dyke, Elias Gallegos, and Nikki Stanzione - to assist Joy Junction, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to helping homeless men, women and children in Albuquerque. There will also be food samplings and an array of giveaways.

Joy Junction (www.joyjunction.org) is a place of refuge to those who have been forced into the streets. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to helping homeless men, women, children, and families in Albuquerque by providing food, clothing, shelter, and safety.

Joy Junction Founder and CEO Dr. Jeremy Reynalds said, “This is a wonderful gesture by our friends at KRQE. We have a longstanding relationship with KRQE, and this gesture couldn’t have come at a better time-when the need is up and donations are down.”

Joy Junction’s faith-based church ministry serves as many as 300 people every night, including as many as 60 to 80 children. Each year it is able to serve as many as 200,000 meals thanks to the generous contributions of citizens and businesses throughout the city.

Suggested food donations include dry goods (pasta, rice, beans, potatoes, Cup-o-soup, individual lunch snacks), canned meat and fruit products, and drinks (water, coffee, tea, soda - in bulk or single serving sizes).

The CBS star-branded and mobile studio-equipped "CBS Buzz Tour" (#cbsbuzz) is crisscrossing the country this summer with network ambassadors, activities and giveaways to 60 markets in 60 days as a thank-you to the millions of loyal fans who continue to make CBS America's Most-Watched Network.

CBS reality star veteran Alex Boylan ("The Amazing Race") will spearhead the fan activities in Albuquerque and will also engage viewers from anywhere in the U.S. throughout the tour with "Inside Buzz" CBS.com webisodes, blogs and an interactive map with video and slide shows of each stop (accessible via www.cbs.com/buzz) - and will also post on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/cbsbuzz and Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/cbsbuzz @alexboylan

In 2002, Alex Boylan was on the winning team on CBS's hit reality television series, "The Amazing Race 2."
