MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (ANS) -- Nick Hall, who founded the PULSE Outreach in 2006 in response to the struggles of the millennial generation, will spread a message of hope this fall at 31 events around the country.

According to a news release obtained by the ASSIST News Service, statistics show the millennial generation is a hurting group. Twenty five percent struggle with drug or alcohol abuse; 33 percent have been diagnosed with clinical depression, and suicide is reported as the third leading cause of death.

Hall has traveled the nation talking to teens and college students and has witnessed the pain of this generation.

The news release said the PULSE website is full of testimonies from young people explaining how Hall's Bible-based message has changed their lives. This post from Rachel is an example. “So for the past two years I have constantly thought suicide was the answer to my problems, but tonight, because of your message, I am now thinking differently.”

According to the news release, Hall believes there is a connection between the culture of the millennial generation and Biblical illiteracy. The Barna Group released a study in 2011 stating that the Christian community is struggling to remain connected with the next generation of teens and young adults.

Today's students represent the least-churched and most Biblically illiterate generation in the history of America. However, Hall has found a unique way to connect with this generation through music and the message of hope found in the Gospel.

The news release said PULSE is working against the startling statistics linked to millennials by hosting and participating in 31 events around the nation before the end of 2012.

“We have had a huge outpouring of support and requests from college students asking us to come to their campus. We are thrilled with how God is using us, and we've packed our schedule because we know there are hurting young people out there who need Jesus,” said Hall in the news release.

PULSE's pinnacle event this fall will take place at University of Wisconsin - Stout on Nov. 1, 2012 in Menomonie, Wis. Six Christian bands, a dance competition and a powerful message from Hall are expected to attract young people from all across western Wisconsin.

According to the news release, Hall will be the keynote speaker in seven cities during Winter Jam West Coast in Nov. 2012, as well as in 54 cities on Winter Jam East Coast 2013. Winter Jam is a tour of massive Christian concerts.

PULSE will also launch a Christmas tour called "The REASON." The tour will stop in ten cities throughout the Midwest from Dec. 5-16, 2012 to remind people that Christ is the reason for Christmas.

PULSE is the largest student-led prayer and outreach effort in America today and has one of the youngest and most highly trained ministry teams in the world. It was founded in 2006 by Hall; inspired by a paper he wrote for his English class at North Dakota State University. At the invitation of students, churches and campus ministry leaders, PULSE visits college campus to host large concert events.

PULSE serves alongside ministries with a commitment to prayer, evangelism and discipleship. This year Hall has presented the Gospel to over 750,000 people.
