PO Box 609, Lake Forest, CA 92609-0609 USA Thursday, September 20, 2012 Persecution, a Broken Light and Boils Gospel for Asia For Immediate Release CARROLLTON, TX (ANS) -- Hamsi grew up without knowing the Lord. When she learned about Gospel for Asia-supported pastor Kota’s local ministry, she was intrigued and decided to visit his fellowship.
Angry Husband Grows Violent Overjoyed by her new faith, she even invited the pastor to hold a weekly prayer gathering in her home. But when her husband, Sushil, came home that night after the prayer meeting, he was enraged. He grabbed a stick and started to beat Hamsi. Broken Light Leads to Change of Heart While Sushil was beating his wife, he accidentally hit the fluorescent light in their home. The light shattered, with pieces falling on his back—and burning his skin. The chemicals soon caused boils to form on his back. Seeing what happened, Sushil realized he had been wrong. His heart softened, and he made a decision to visit the church with his wife that very Sunday. There, he asked forgiveness for his deeds and chose to follow the Lord.
