PO Box 609, Lake Forest, CA 92609-0609 USA Tuesday, October 9, 2012 RayLynn Records releases debut ’Hear Me’ from flagship artist Kyle Sherman By Ginny McCabe Special to ASSIST News Service DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TEXAS (ANS) -- The RayLynn Records team is prepared for a big day today, on October 9 with the release of their debut, Hear Me from flagship artist, Kyle Sherman.
For the past few weeks, Sherman has been traveling across the country, visiting radio stations, as he readies to unveil a project that has been in the making for the past several years. He also recently performed at a Dallas/Fort Worth show for a group of radio and music industry VIP’s on September 29, which gave him the opportunity to premiere the new music. After years of serving as a worship leader, Sherman was discovered at his home church in Fort Worth by Bob and Janice Simpson, owners of the Texas Rangers. “From day one we recognized Kyle’s incredible talent as a worship leader at our church,” said Bob Simpson, co-founder of RayLynn Records. “However, what started as a belief in our ability to back Kyle’s musical endeavors financially, turned into a flourishing relationship where we had the opportunity to become part of his projects. It has been such an honor for my wife and I to create RayLynn Records and to collaborate with Kyle on songs like ‘Come To Me’ which will help further God’s Word." They also joined forces with multi-award winning, veteran producer/Country singer-songwriter, Mark Collie (Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and Martina McBride, among others) to craft a moving collection of songs. The result is a mix of worship anthems and upbeat pop songs that are flavored with a rootsy, acoustic-driven, southern soul sound. Bob Simpson and Collie co-wrote the song “The Greatest Tear.” Janice also contributed lyrically to several songs, including “Hear Me” and “Come To Me.” “There are elements within this record of all kinds of influences,” said Kyle Sherman. “From stuff I was crazy about in college, like Shane and Shane and David Crowder Band, to more recently, Needtobreathe and even Eric Clapton, who I kind of discovered later in life, due to my wife’s fondness of classic rock. I hope these songs reflect the nuances of all this, but ultimately take on a style that is uniquely Kyle Sherman.” Radio listeners are currently being introduced to the song, “Come To Me,” which is making its way to adult contemporary stations across the nation. Produced by Collie and Bob Simpson, highlights on the 12-song project include “One True Friend,” “New Life,” “You Are The Only One,” “The Greatest Tear,” and “Healing Coming Down,” among others. RayLynn Records, a new Christian music label for emerging performers, aims to serve as a launch pad for breakthrough artists and seeks to share the Gospel through music and the artists they represent.
