South Asian Pastor Given Police Protection after False Accusations

Gospel for Asia
For Immediate Release

CARROLTON, TX (ANS) -- On September 18, 2012, religious extremists interrupted a meeting at Pastor Baasim’s South Asia church and threatened to beat him after accusing him of forcibly converting people.

The radicals didn’t follow through on their threats, but they filed a police report against him.

Pastor Baasim sought legal help, which he received, and now comes the good news that the local police have offered their protection to the pastor, and the situation has calmed down enough for Baasim to continue his ministry without any hindrances.

We praise God for the protection of our falsely accused brother Baasim—a swift answer to our prayers! This week, please pray for two other pastors facing threats to their ministries.

Also, please pray for:

* The continued safety of Pastor Baasim and his congregation.

* Pastor Baasim’s name to be cleared.* Protection for Pastor Baasim and the 80 people regularly attending his church.

* The hearts of those threatening Pastor Baasim, that they will embrace Christ.
