LAKE FOREST, CA (ANS) -- Dear ANS friends: I want to thank all of you that so generously helped me get back on track with a new computer so that I can again run ANS without problems. I have just got a Toshiba Satellite (C855-S5239 15.6” Notebook) and I have been busy loading up all of the necessary software.

It was a difficult time to try and run a worldwide news service on a machine that kept crashing, but now I am ready to start again and it is all due to your wonderful kindness as you stood by me with your gifts.

Last Sunday, I had the joy of having my younger son, Peter Wooding, and his 16-year-old daughter, Anna, as my special guests on Front Page Radio aired on the KWVE Radio Network in Southern California, and on many other stations around the world. In this unique interview, they talked about their recent Mercy Projects mission trip to the Hearts of Love special needs centre in Konotop, Ukraine.

Anna, who is a talented dancer, was making her first missions trip, and she was able to teach these special needs children to dance to beautiful worship music, something that brought them so much joy.

I say unique as we did this trans-Atlantic interview via Skype with Peter and Anna in their North Wales home and me in Lake Forest, California. Peter and Anna recorded their parts and I did mine on our respective digital recorders and I then e-mailed my contribution to Peter and he edited the whole program together.

By the way, Anna is the fourth generation of my family to be involved in missions. It began with my parents, Alfred and Anne Wooding, who were, in the 1930s and 1940s, pioneer missionaries to Nigeria, where I was born.

Then I got involved in taking the Gospel around the world, and after this, Peter joined Youth With A Mission, where he met his wife, Sharon, and now Anna has also become involved in sharing about Jesus.

We are hoping that eventually, there may be a 5th generation -- or dimension.

The 5th Dimension

Talking of the 5th Dimension, my special guest on His Channel Live (www.hischannel.com) – which went out live to 192 countries on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, was Florence LaRue, the lead singer with the 5th Dimension, which she still leads with a whole new group of new singers. Florence, a committed Christian and a member of Church on the Way in Van Nuys, has, I discovered during the interview, has had a phenomenal career that has produced 14 Gold records, 6 Platinum records, 6 GRAMMY Awards, and numerous other awards. She also told me that many a Sunday night, The 5th Dimension was brought into American living rooms on The Ed Sullivan variety show.

Originally known as The Hi-Fi’s, the group changed its name to The 5th Dimension in late 1966 and was best-known during the late 1960s and early 1970s for popularizing the hits “Up, Up and Away”, “Stoned Soul Picnic”, “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In”, “Wedding Bell Blues”, “One Less Bell to Answer”, “(Last Night) I Didn't Get to Sleep at All”, and “The Magic Garden” LP.
