‘Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups’

By Dan Wooding

HOLLYWOOD, CA (ANS) -- An all-new Disney holiday classic is born — Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups. Starring a brand-new litter of the cutest talking pups ever — Hope, Jingle, Charity and Noble — it’s perfect for the whole family.

When Mrs. Claus travels to Pineville, the playful Santa Pups stow away on her sled. Taking mischief to a whole new level, they begin granting joyful wishes to Pineville’s boys and girls, but something goes terribly wrong — the Christmas spirit begins to disappear. Now the Santa Pups and Mrs. Claus must race to save Christmas around the world. From the creators of Disney Buddies, this magical, heartwarming tale is brimming with hope, cheer and Christmas spirit.

As every parent knows, raising youngsters requires a great deal of patience and perseverance, and SANTA PAWS and MRS. PAWS certainly have their paws full with their four adorable pups; HOPE (the daring tomboy who wears a backwards red cap and rarely looks before she leaps), JINGLE (the diva with a bell on her collar who loves to sing, but can’t carry a tune), CHARITY (the girliest and most self-centered of the pups with a mistletoe barrette, who has yet to learn the meaning of her name) and NOBLE (the mischievous only brother and self-appointed leader who is distinguished by a cheeky black spot around his eye).

Despite undergoing rigorous “Santa’s Helper” training from Santa’s head elf and elf dog, ELI and EDDY, the Pups’ playful antics are constantly wreaking havoc on Santa’s workshop. Like their elders, the Pups long to wear their own magic crystals, which would give them the ability to grant Christmas wishes. Eli and Eddy promise they will receive them in due time, but patience isn’t yet a virtue the Pups possess. To prove they’re ready now, Noble hatches a plan to steal Eddy’s magic crystal and they secretly stow away in MRS. CLAUS’ sleigh when she sets off on her own mission, to find a new “Ambassador to the Santa Cause,” someone who will demonstrate the pure Santa Spirit all year round.

Cheryl Ladd as Mrs. Claus

After landing the sleigh in the most Christmas-spirited town in the world, PINEVILLE, USA, Mrs. Claus is brought to tears when she hears the angelic singing of a little girl over the town’s radio speakers. It is the voice of tiny SARAH REYNOLDS who is inspiring Pineville with her pure Christmas Spirit. Mrs. Claus realizes she has found who she is looking for, making her trip already a Christmas success!

Meanwhile and unbeknownst to Mrs. Claus, the Santa Pups start granting joyful wishes to young boys and girls, hoping to prove they are more than ready to help their father Mr. Claus grant children’s wishes. However, the Santa Pups’ bold adventure takes a very wrong turn when they cross paths with CARTER REYNOLDS, Sarah’s older brother, who has lost his Christmas Spirit. The Pups accidentally grant Carter’s wish for “Christmas to just go away!” Before they know it, Carter’s wish becomes contagious like a Christmas Cold, spreading his lack of cheer with everyone he meets.

Back at the North Pole, Santa Claus and his elves see a reverse of the Christmas multiplier effect; instead of positive Christmas cheer spreading through-out the world, it is vanishing! It’s become a Christmas Pandemic like nothing they’ve ever seen! Realizing the Santa Pups may be involved, Santa Claus sends Eli and Eddy down to Pineville to help before the Great Christmas Icicle melts away completely and Christmas is gone forever.

The four Santa Pups

Back in Pineville, when more and more people start turning their backs on their neighbors, the Santa Pups realize they don’t have much time to reverse the wish. With the help of Sarah, Carter’s little sister who is so full of Christmas Spirit that she’s not affected by the pandemic, the Santa Pups and Mrs. Claus race to save Christmas. When Carter sees the terrible effects of his wish, he decides to help spread the cheer.

With the help of the North Pole team, Sarah and Carter bring Christmas Spirit back to the town through a beautiful holiday song, touching the hearts and souls of Pineville and beyond. After Christmas Spirit is restored and the Santa Pups have learned their lesson, they return with Mrs. Claus to the North Pole, having helped her to find not one but two young “Ambassadors to the Santa Cause” in Sarah and Carter.
