BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA (ANS – February 21, 2017) – Australian veteran media pioneer, Alan Miles Metcalfe, the founder of The Safe Worlds TV Project, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017, in the Gold Coast, Australia, following a massive heart attack.
His son, Clayton L. Metcalfe, said that the heart attack was “caused by a complication of a virus that attacked his blood which went [on] to infect the heart.” Clayton went on to say that his father “never had a sick day in his life until now,” adding that he “is now in a better place with His God and is now giving us his guidance from above.”
Just a couple of hours before his passing, Alan Metcalfe, writing about The Book! [the Bible) said, “The search for Intelligence is a journey to meet God, face to face, as Moses did on Mount Sinai: Now we see through a glass darkly, but then….”
Little did he know how prophetic those words would be!
Alan Metcalfe devoted much of his long life in developing Safe Worlds TV, which is described on its website (http://www.safeworlds.tv/) as “the world’s first fully intelligent, fully integrated, fully interoperable Internet TV, radio platform & e-business system.”
I got to know Alan, his wife, Mary and son Clayton, when, for a year, I joined his team in Irvine, California, where Alan gave me my own TV show and I was able to conduct scores of interviews for Safe Worlds TV. It was an incredible time of learning for me in how to work in television, and is something I will be eternally grateful.
My younger son, Peter, also joined the Safe Worlds team in the UK, and was trained by Clayton Metcalfe, and has since been able to use these invaluable skills by setting up Peter Wooding Productions (www.peterwoodingproductions.com) and also going on many overseas and domestic news reporting assignments for groups like Samaritan’s Purse, Mercy Projects, the Global News Alliance, and CBN.
After a time in Southern California, Alan, Clayton and Mary, returned to the Gold Coast in Australia, to continue the work there.
His wife, Mary, arrived in Australia in 1956 with her family from her native Hungary after fleeing the violent situation there, and that’s when she met Alan, and later married him.
She wrote on Facebook, “As you know our Alan was a team player and all of us, his people have pledged to continue on with his good works. I have been the company’s CFO from the beginning, working closely alongside Alan and I am totally familiar with all aspects of The Safe Worlds TV Project.
“I have committed to take over Alan’s work to establish this company as he intended, with the help of my son Clayton Metcalfe who is the company’s main Media Productions Manager.
“We have the same support from all our Safe Worlds Team, board of advisers, lawyers and accountants and key people from around the world.
“I now call on you to have faith and support us, as we, the Safe Worlds team go forward in accomplishing this incredible and valuable project.”
Mary added: “The AI Algorithm that Alan created is unrivalled in the industry. The finest celebration of his legacy, is that all of us who can share now our pledge to liberate this gift to benefit humanity.
“I will continue to keep you informed of the Safe Worlds Team progress and the development of the company in the weeks and months ahead.”
In closing, Mary Metcalfe shared part of a message sent to her by Professor David Flint in his message of condolence. “Alan,” he said, “was, and is, a giant among men. Courageous, principled, full of integrity, uniquely gifted with both words and an understanding of the sciences. It was an honor to know him. I have every confidence that you will fulfil his mission and deliver his gift to the world.”
Mary concluded by saying that the new family/company’s motto is to “Celebrate Alan’s life, not to mourn him.” She added: “We all know in our heart of hearts that is what he would have wanted!”
Alan Metcalfe’s funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm (Queensland time) at the Albert Street Uniting Church, 319 Albert St, Brisbane City QLD 4000, where relatives, friends and shareholders are invited to attend.
