NASHVILLE, TN (ANS, November 3, 2015) – Alex and Stephen Kendrick have dedicated their lives to serving Jesus Christ and making His truth and love known among the nations through movies, books, speaking, and prayer. The Kendricks, together with their brother Shannon, operate Kendrick Brothers Productions.
In 2002, Alex and Stephen established Sherwood Pictures with the blessing of their church’s senior pastor, Michael Catt. Their first movie, Flywheel, received an overwhelming response, leading to the production of Facing The Giants. The brothers also produced the successful movie COURAGEOUS. The Kendricks’ latest production, War Room, was released theatrically in August of 2015, garnered an A+ Cinemascore, and became the #1 movie at the U.S. box office.
Alex and Stephen have also co-authored multiple bestselling books, including The Love Dare and The Resolution for Men. Their latest book, titled The Battle Plan for Prayer, made the New York Times bestsellers list.
The Kendrick brothers are scheduled to speak at the NRB Church Media Summit on February 24, 2016, during Proclaim 16, the NRB International Christian Media Convention, in Nashville, TN.
“We are blessed to have Alex and Stephen Kendrick join us for the inaugural NRB Church Media Summit,” commented NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “Church media ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers will gain much from their session as these brothers have reached and impacted countless lives through their media endeavors.”
Using the example of Jesus as well as lessons learned from writing the movie scripts for War Room, Courageous, Fireproof, and Facing the Giants, the Kendricks will talk about the power of story and share some of the keys that have guided them to craft more engaging and impactful movie scripts.
Bringing together leaders in visual storytelling, worship technology, volunteer development, multi-site campuses, social media strategy, and live streaming, the new NRB Church Media Summit is an interactive event designed to give attendees a comprehensive strategy for successful media ministry in their local church, and beyond.
The two-day summit (February 24 and 26) will equip participants to lead their team effectively and renew their calling to impact the world with life-changing content in today’s ever-changing culture. The summit offers attendees a great opportunity to make connections with others in their field, and sessions will include a Q&A and practical material that attendees can begin using on their very next production or worship service.
“The two half-day summit sessions we have planned were designed with the unique mission, opportunity, challenges, and vision of church media ministry in mind,” noted Angie McGregor, Chair of the NRB Church Media Standing Committee, which is organizing the summit.
“I know that attendees will be blessed,” she added.
