Harvest Films See International Impact

Hope for Hurting Hearts posterRIVERSIDE, CA (ANS – June 10, 2015) — Two Harvest Films productions have just won awards at an Italian film festival, proving once again that the gospel’s message of hope is universal. At the Sabaoth International Film Festival last week in Milan, Italy, Caught Inside was named Best Short Drama, while Hope for Hurting Hearts claimed the Best Documentary award. Both films were subtitled from English.

According to Harvest Films, the screening of these films and others set the tone for an unusual happening at a film festival’s opening day: an altar call. Liliana Oliveri, the Executive Director of the festival, said, “Sixteen people gave their lives to Jesus, which makes it worth all the effort and time. I bawled my eyes out as they came up (very Italian I know)! We all work as voluntary helpers in the festival, we have no funding of any sort, and our only objective is to reach people with the gospel message.”

Plans are being made for the festival to go “on tour” in churches throughout Italy, and Oliveri is also working with contacts in Brazil for the films to be subtitled in Portuguese and shown there.

Harvest Ministries plans to include the newly subtitled versions of Hope for Hurting Hearts as part of a free evangelistic movie night offer to churches who want to screen the film in those languages. It has already been dubbed into Spanish and Turkish and is available to congregations and small group of those languages at movienight.harvest.org.
