LOS ANGELES, CA (ANS – September 22, 2015) — Willie Jordan, president of the Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles, and sister to Pastor Greg Laurie’s late mother, Charlene, has praised the ASSIST News Service.
In a message, Jordan said, “I have been blessed to be involved in hands-on global missions in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and the U.S. for more than 60 years, and I am vitally interested in the whole world. However, I have always been amazed at how little the average American knows about other nations, since our secular news services give only limited global coverage.
“And this lack of knowledge about nations beyond our own borders is compounded in the Church, since there is virtually NO news source that reports on the Church, globally.
“This is why I believe Dan Wooding, and his ASSIST News Service is a gift to the Church, since he provides believers with up-to-date information about what God is doing to accomplish His mission around the world.
She added: “Dan’s years of experience as an international newsman ASSIST have given him a unique perspective on the Christian world that is unparalleled, and his ASSIST News Service gives God’s Good News to believers in America that is not available from any other source.”
Note: For well over half a century Willie Jordan has been giving help and hope to lost, hurting, impoverished children, men, and women all over the world. She is internationally recognized for her experience and knowledge in the fields of poverty, hunger, homelessness, domestic violence and children’s issues. She has served the poor from the mean streets of Skid Row to war-torn Korea; from the jungles of Mexico to the congested cities of Asia, and from California’s migrant farm-laborers to Ghana and Liberia, Africa’s teeming millions.
As host of Fred Jordan Missions’ weekly television program since 1951, and the speaker on its daily two-minute radio program, she shares the needs of a hurting world, and challenges her listeners to follow the example of Jesus, who was “moved with compassion,” when He saw the needy multitudes. He gave Himself, the Bread of Life, to satisfy man’s deepest need; then Jesus fed the hungry and healed the sick, becoming the supreme model of what humanity is to be.
