Gospel for Asia (www.gfa.org) News Release – For Immediate Release
WILLS POINT, TX (ANS – October 2, 2017) — Aadita and Risha are two women missionaries who serve alongside each other together with a group of missionary women. These two women have served as Sisters of Compassion too, helping widows, serving in slums and ministering to anyone in need. Aadita and Risha aren’t anything extraordinary — they do simple tasks like cleaning people’s homes and giving small gifts to struggling mothers. Yet, in all they do, God is present. And He is drawing men and women to understand His grace in an intimate way.
Here are just a few stories showcasing how Aadita and Risha are impacting the people around them. We hope these stories and their personal faith testimonies are an encouragement to you as you walk with Jesus and as you pray for God’s work on the field.
First meet Aadita:
Aadita was born on December 15, 1979, to nominal Christian parents. Her family never really followed closely after Christ, so she grew up without having a true understanding about God or His precepts.
When Aadita was quite young, her parents passed away, so she and her siblings grew up under the care of their grandmother. As years went by, Aadita said she became very sad about being an orphan and thought “there is no future for me”. Because of this depression, Addita ran away from her grandmother and met a family who offered her a home after hearing her painful story.
Through this family’s kindness, Aadita was given the opportunity to study in school until she dropped out in eighth grade. But even though Aadita got what she longed for, she was still in search for what her heart truly lacked—peace.
One day, Aadita attended a Christian meeting that was held in her village. There she heard more about Jesus, and the message given that day soothed her distressed heart.
The speaker shared from Psalm 27:10, “When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the LORD will take care of me.”
Aadita realized at that moment that God was concerned about her life. God’s Word lit her path, and Aadita understood her need for a Savior.
“I found a friend in Jesus who comforts me and leads me through the path of righteousness,” Aadita said.
Today Aadita is now serving the Lord and bringing comfort to those who feel lonely and who live without peace. She has the opportunity to introduce people to her friend Jesus.
Now meet Risha:
Risha was born on March 2, 1995. Since childhood, Risha was taught to worship her god in hopes of receiving blessing and peace. But she always questioned deep down in her heart if the god she worshiped was the real God. Whenever Risha asked her parents about it, they could not answer their young daughter.
Throughout her life, Risha had no peace and joy in her life. This lack of peace set her on a search to find the real God.
One day, Risha and her brother attended a Christmas celebration at a church. During the celebration, Risha heard from God’s Word, and she felt peace for the first time in her life. After the service was over, Risha met the pastor, and he shared the love of Jesus with her. Risha’s heart was deeply touched as she realized her need for a Savior.
From that point on, Risha started attending church regularly and spent more time in prayer and meditating on God’s Word. Gradually, the Lord filled Risha’s heart with eternal peace and joy. As time went on, Risha grew in spiritual maturity. She began to feel the call of God to carry this peace she had found to those who had none.
Today Risha is the hands and feet of Christ, serving communities and villages, displaying the love and peace of Jesus to those she encounters.
