YORBA LINDA, CA (ANS – May 5, 2017) –Yorba Linda Public Library in Southern California, will be holding its first event to highlight local authors. Called “Read Locally: Local Author Festival” it will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Among the authors to be featured at this event is Pamela Christian, a multiple award-winning, non-fiction author whose main genre is Christian education, spiritual growth.
While Christian will display all her books, she will be reading from her newest title, Revive Your Life! Rest for Your Anxious Heart, which will not be available to the public until May 15, 2017. Event attendees will enjoy a special preview and hear the author read an excerpt from this third book in her Faith to Live By series. Plus Christian and other featured authors will be providing raffle gifts for the Library to award to the lucky attendees who win the drawing.
When asked what inspired her to write the series, Christian explained, “I read an article by ABC News with a headline about Americans being tolerant of religious faith. I expected to read that Americans are accepting of people from various religions. Instead, I read how people are taking different tenets from different religious beliefs to create a religion of their own preference. I was outraged and broken-hearted to learn how deceived people are about matters of truth and religion. People who are deceived are unaware of their condition, unless they are caused to reconsider. The focus on my book series is to help people reconsider what they believe and confidently discover and live in life-giving truth.”
Christian is uniquely building bridges writing using a combination of “head and heart” that her readers readily embrace. Christian is an apologetics enthusiast and a charismatic believer in Jesus. Generally speaking, these are two different Christian camps. However, people from both camps are finding Christian’s work refreshing.
Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina, and former president for Southern Baptist’s Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, read Christian’s third book and is providing an endorsement, albeit with a caveat concerning the availability of spiritual gifts today. “I am exceedingly grateful for Dr. Land’s endorsement, recognizing my work as commendable even though our doctrines are different,” Christian expressed. “Over the phone, Dr. Land told me ‘You drill down quite deep without your readers realizing it,’ and said the book has ‘excellent stuff that I profited by.’ Coming from him I am greatly honored.”
Christian stated she writes presenting information so her readers can make informed decisions about important matters in life. Her style is inductive, respectful, and compassionate. The reviews she’s received for the first two books in the series are excellent.
The first in the series, Examine Your Faith! Finding Truth in a World of Lies (Protocol, Ltd. rev. 2015) endorsed by Josh McDowell and others, was recently awarded the Small Christian Publishers 2017 Book of the Year. This competition had over 5,000 reader ballots on over 120 books. Christian’s title won in the category of Christian Education. In 2013, the book won Authors DB cover design.
Renew Your Hope! Remedy for Personal Breakthroughs (Protocol, Ltd. rev 2015) endorsed by Dr. Charles H. Kraft and others, received the 2014 National Indie Excellence Award and placed as a finalist with the prestigious Selah Awards competing against traditional publishers. That year there were 350 submissions, 14 genres and 29 publishers.
The third book, Revive Your Life! Rest for Your Anxious Heart (Protocol, Ltd.) is geared toward Millennials and people who want to find greater meaning and purpose in life. Endorsers include Dr. James Goll, Pastor Bill Johnson, Dr. Craig Hazen, and Dan Story.
