LANGHORNE, PA (ANS – July 19, 2017) — Summer is a great time for writers or would-be writers to attend conferences and find inspiration for the months of writing to come. The 34th Annual Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference, to be held at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA, July 26-29 offers opportunities to learn the craft of writing, and includes a number of free keynote addresses open to the public.
“This is more than a typical writers’ conference where participants can connect with agents and editors, learn how to market their work effectively, and sharpen their writing skills,” said conference coordinator Marlene Bagnull. “GPCWC really is about encouraging and equipping people to write about a God who is real, who is reachable, and who changes lives.” The conference theme is “Write His Answer,” taken from the Bible verse Habakkuk 2:2.
The conference includes 20 early bird workshops on Wednesday, July 26, 42 workshops over the course of the three-and-a-half-day event, continuing sessions, intensive clinics and keynote presentations by experienced and successful authors. Attendees can also meet with dozens of editors, writers and agents among the faculty of 55 to pitch their work and make contacts.
Eight keynote talks include topics such as “Redemptive Writing in a Hostile Culture” by missionary and teacher Peter Lundell, “A Christian Writer’s Jihad” by Al Janssen, author and co-author of over 30 books in 20 languages; “Hidden in Plain Sight” by Rob Cook, founder of 252 Underground Youth Ministry; “Write & Speak His Answer Prayerfully” by Linda Evans Shepherd, nationally known speaker and award-winning, best-selling author of over 30 books. Other free sessions include “Storytelling to Inspire Change” by D. J. Williams, “Embracing the Spirit of the Martyr” by Michael Gantt, “Say Yes to God: Live with Purpose” by Kevin Wayne Johnson and a concert by Terrence Clark.
Those interested in attending the free sessions or any part of the conference can find full details in a 16-page online brochure at http://philadelphia.writehisanswer.com. Dates and times for all sessions are included in the brochure. More information is available by calling 484-991-8581 or emailing Marlene Bagnull at email@example.com.
