Homeless and Impoverished Receive Gifts During Global OneDay2020 Celebration

Dallas, USA (ANS) – Operation Care International (OCI) hosted the world’s biggest birthday party for Jesus through OneDay2020, a global day of outreach December 21.

Partnering with 24 states in the U.S. and 75 countries to share the hope and joy of Jesus with impoverished individuals in communities worldwide, OCI provided $10,000 to each participating city, many of which also distributed socks, coats, blankets, sleeping bags, food, foot washing and prayer.

“Although this year’s day of outreach looked different from previous years due to COVID-19 related restrictions, I was blown away by how many communities rallied together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by helping those who are struggling or hurting,” said Susie Jennings, president and founder of OCI.

“I cannot think of a better way to honor Jesus, the greatest gift of all, and His birth, than through our wonderful and successful morning outreach and evening celebration events.”

OCI organized a morning outreach drive-thru event in which 30 local non-profits and ministries including the Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission and Veterans Resources Center participated, filling their trucks with supplies to distribute. Additionally, at the Dallas Union Gospel Mission, volunteers offered foot washing and prayer.

During the evening celebration at the Waters Creek Convention Center, speakers delivered messages of encouragement and hope, including actor Kevin Sorbo; evangelist Nicky Cruz; and president and founder of Operation Care International, Susie Jennings.

“We are so incredibly grateful to all the amazing men and women who made OneDay2020 an outstanding day to remember,” said Mike Tirone, director of OCI. “Despite the many obstacles that arose due to the pandemic, God was faithful and provided miraculous ways for us to help the hurting. This year’s event was a true testament not only of God’s goodness but of the goodness of so many selfless people around the world.”
