As Leading The Way’s global ministry continues to expand, Dr Alan Kerbey OBE has joined the ministry’s international leadership team to head up this important work in the UK.

Dr Kerbey brings over three decades of experience in the public and voluntary sectors with CEO and various executive level management experience.

“During a recent visit to London, God made it clear to me that Leading The Way needs to expand its ministry here in the UK to meet the growing need for the Gospel,” stated Leading The Way Founder and President Dr Michael Youssef. “Dr Kerbey’s amazing and impeccable experience, combined with stellar credentials, makes him the right man to lead this ministry to greater heights.”

Dr Kerbey is a former Oxford University medical research scientist. After 20 years of research and teaching, he left the world of academia to pursue opportunities for Christian ministry.

Since then he has brought considerable leadership experience to numerous charities, including his role as Executive Director of Crusaders (now Urban Saints), a long-established Christian youth organisation based in the UK.

“I am very excited about building on all that has been achieved so far,” stated Dr Kerbey, “and doing all I can to help create an environment in which Leading The Way can progress to even higher levels of reach, influence, impact, excellence, recognition and achievement for the Kingdom of God.”

Dr Kerbey says he has high expectations of working with such a respected ministry:

“Dr Youssef is prepared to proclaim Biblical truth in an uncompromising way. He is completely unashamed to speak this out in public. We desperately need people like him, who are prepared to stand on the truth of God’s Word in a world where the church increasingly is being compromised by secularisation.”

The appointment of Dr Kerbey to this critical role is evidence of Leading The Way’s ongoing commitment to the UK.

“My love for Great Britain and its people stems from my deep appreciation that the UK gave us the English Reformation, the Wesleyan Revival and many Christian heroes,” added Dr Michael Youssef. “I view our past 15 years of ministry in the UK to be extremely important.  It is my ardent desire and longing that God will bless this country again with a move of the Holy Spirit.”

“Dr Kerbey shares our love for Jesus Christ and our passion to advance the Gospel in the UK—leveraging all his experience and connections to make Christ known,” Dr Youssef commented. “My prayer is that God will use this exciting opportunity to grow Leading The Way UK beyond what we could ask for or imagine.”

Dr Kerbey has worked alongside a number of well-known and distinguished individuals, including Nobel prize winner Professor Sir Hans Krebs FRS; Lord Robert Runcie, former Archbishop of Canterbury; Lord Geoffrey Howe, former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Foreign Secretary; Sir Richard Dearlove, former Head of MI6; and others. In 2012 he was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for services to medical research, education and young people.
