London, England (ANS) – As the UK continues to be hit hard by the global Covid-19 pandemic Leading The Way and Neighbourhood Prayer Network joined forces for a national week of prayer October 11-17 calling for a return to Biblical Truth in the nation.

Leading The Way Founder and President Dr Michael Youssef shares a powerful message for Prayer Week.

The centrepiece was a video message to the UK church, specifically recorded by Dr Michael Youssef, President of Leading The Way. Speaking from Daniel Chapter 9, his timely and relevant message helped to guide people’s prayers.

More than half a million people were reached in the week through social media and YouTube, which included special ‘in conversation’ programmes, speaking to different areas of society.

Leading The Way UK Director Dr Alan Kerbey interviews Stagecoach Chairman Sir Brian Souter.

Guests contributing included Gavin Calver, CEO of the Evangelical Alliance, the Rt Revd Philip Mountstephen, Bishop of Truro, Mervyn Thomas, Founder and President of Christian Solidarity Worldwide, David L’Herroux, CEO of United Christian Broadcasters, Peter Kerridge, CEO of Premier Christian Media Group, Dr Sharon Dirckx from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, and Sir Brian Souter, Founder and Chairman of Stagecoach.

Reflecting on the week Leading The Way UK Director Dr Alan Kerbey OBE said: “Our partnership with Neighbourhood Prayer Network was a real meeting of hearts, minds and kingdom values.

“Both organisations hold a very high view of the importance of Biblical truth within key pillars of society, and of the importance prayer in turning our nation back to God’s Word. In-depth conversations with leading figures from all areas of society, together with a powerful message to the UK church from Leading The Way President, Dr Michael Youssef, and a ‘daily devotional’ from Leading the Way UK Board member, Dr RT Kendall, provided a rich tapestry of thought-provoking resources. Most importantly this mobilized widespread prayer across the nation and engaged over 500,000 individuals through social media alone.”

Carl Brettle, CEO of Neighbourhood Prayer Network

Neighbourhood Prayer Network CEO Carl Brettle added: “Neighbourhood Prayer Network creates kingdom focused partnerships to best serve Christians in their local area. Working with Leading the Way UK was a perfect example of such a partnership, which saw wonderful unity to promote and pray into Biblical truth in society. Prayer Week has seen some amazing responses from people who engaged with 60 hours of video content throughout the week.  This response on social media was amazing.  It was a privilege to partner with Leading the Way UK.”

Carl Brettle concluded: “I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to the programme – including those who joined us for our daily zoom prayer meeting. We already have a date for Prayer Week in 2021. It is my prayer that the firm foundations of this Prayer Week will continue to bear much fruit and I look forward to working with Leading the Way UK in 2021.”
